Overview

Reads a small-business inbox, drafts replies, and auto-sends only what's safe; everything else goes to a person

Most of a small business's inbox is the same five questions. This reads each incoming email, works out what it is, pulls out the details, drafts the reply, and sends it only when that is safe. Complaints, refunds, legal language, card numbers and anything it is unsure of go to a person, with a draft ready.

It is built to be trusted rather than to impress: every decision shows the rule that made it, and a draft may only state a number, date or promise that appears in the customer's email or the business's own profile. The playground runs entirely in the browser with no key; a visitor can paste their own Claude key to see the draft polished by the model, and the polished draft goes through the same check.

Engineering

How it was built

Frontend

  • Browser playground with the full rule trace, offline by default

Backend & services

  • Rules-based intent classifier with confidence and explanations
  • Field extraction: names, companies, phones, dates, amounts, invoice numbers
  • 14 ordered routing rules with an unverified-fact check on every draft
  • Idempotent worker, rate limits, unsubscribe list, JSONL audit log

Integrations

  • Claude via the Anthropic SDK to polish drafts (claude-haiku-5-5 by default)
  • IMAP/SMTP adapter, read-only and dry-run by default

Testing & verification

  • 66 tests
  • Measured on a labelled holdout set: 70.8% intent, 83.3% routing, 0 unsafe auto-sends
